New from Scale Store: 1/6 Over There

Another diorama set from Scale Store: 1/6 Overthere (Made of Resin Material). A rather interesting title / product name. "Over There" was an action / drama / war television series that aired on FX. The series followed a unit of the United States Army's Third Infantry Division on its first tour of duty in Iraq, and chronicled the war's effects on the soldiers' families in the United States. The Iraq sequences were filmed in the California desert, while the homefront scenes are shot in and around the Greater Los Angeles area.

This 1/6 Over There diorama set by Scale Store features a fence with pavement and four (4) interchangeable signs: Caution - Radioactive Material, Danger - Biohazard, Halt! Stop! and District 9 sign (No Humans Allowed).

District 9 is a 2009 South African science fiction thriller film directed by Neill Blomkamp and produced by Peter Jackson (he of "Lord of the Rings"and "King Kong" fame) and Carolynne Cunningham. The story pivots on the themes of xenophobia and social segregation. The title and premise of District 9 were inspired by events that took place in District Six, Cape Town during the apartheid era. The film was a sleeper hit for its relatively unknown cast and modest-budget production, while achieving success and popularity during its theatrical run.

The United States Marine Corps (USMC) were involved in another alien invasion of the movie kind. Battle: Los Angeles (also known as Battle: LA and World Invasion: Battle Los Angeles, and formerly known as Battle for Los Angeles) was a 2011 military science fiction war film directed by Jonathan Liebesman, and starring Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Michael Peña, Ne-Yo, Ramon Rodriguez, and Bridget Moynahan. The film is set in modern day Los Angeles and follows a platoon of U.S. Marines during a global alien invasion, who are joined by an Airman and some Army infantry. The events of the film are inspired by the Battle of Los Angeles, a supposed World War II air raid of the city which turned out to be a false alarm caused by several unidentified flying objects.

As you can see, this Scale Store: 1/6 Overthere set just looks GREAT for dioramas and adds a whole new dimension to the figures, making them look even more real in a actual setting.

With all the 1/6 scale fabric clothing / uniform, gear and weapons set against a almost real diorama set, you can almost mistaken this as an actual scene occurring in a particular place or time.

Scale Store even tried the same setting with WWII German 12-inch figures but the more modern looking fence and pavement just gives it away.

Here are the four signs that will be included: Caution - Radioactive Material, Danger - Biohazard, Halt! Stop! and District 9 sign (No Humans Allowed)

All these Scale Store 1/6 scale diorama sets are GREAT for people like us who have no skill whatsoever in creating and making dioramas of our own and want to display our figures with more depth :)
