Sideshow Collectibles COBRA Ninja Assassin 1/6th Storm Shadow 12-inch figure Review II

continued from previous post...

You can order this from Sideshow Collectibles

Having covered this Sideshow Collectibles "G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero" COBRA Ninja Assassin 1/6 scale Storm Shadow box and contents including a stripping down of the layers of clothing he wears in the previous post, here's a look at Storm Shadow with all his gear and accessories put on. This figure came with quite a lot of accessories and gloved hands for posing which makes him a lot more fun to shoot and take pictures of.

You'll probably guess by now that this is not the live-action film version of Storm Shadow portrayed by Lee Byung-hun in the 2009 film "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra", and the 2013 sequel "G.I. Joe: Retaliation". This is the Storm Shadow from the "G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero" toyline, comic books and cartoon series. He is best known as the Cobra Commander's ninja bodyguard, and for his history with fellow ninja Snake Eyes. In this version, Storm Shadow is not korean but a Japanese American.

July 2014 haul: A Dead Cosmonaut (3A), Green Beret (Lt Falcon) and SAS: Who Dares Wins!

July is almost over and I haven't got much to show for it. I guess you could say July was a slow month, at least for me. I only got the ThreeA (3A) 1/6 scale Adventure Kartel Dead Cosmonaut Golovorez 12.5-inch figure, Sideshow Collectibles 2012 San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive (SDCC) 1/6 scale G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero Lt. Falcon 12-inch Green Beret figure and a Action Man 40th Anniversary SAS Complete Uniform Set.

Two out of the three were impulse buys. The Sideshow SDCC 2012 Exclusive G.I. Joe Green Beret Lt Falcon sixth scale figure and Action Man 40th Anniversary SAS Complete Uniform Set were unplanned as I did not pre-order them but they just happen to pop up whereas the ThreeA (3A) 1/6 scale Adventure Kartel Dead Cosmonaut Golovorez 12.5-inch figure has been on the waiting list since I pre-ordered it some time ago.

Incoming: DAM TOYS 1/6th scale Gangsters Kingdom (GK#007) Spade 5 "Baron" 12" figure

CHAPTER 4: The war began.
Section 1: Declaration of war.

Baron, the 5 of Spades, is a former SAS sniper. He joined the army with a simple wish: shooting enemies on the battlefield. But the reality seems enjoy going against wishes. Baron finally received an order to eliminate an important member of Al-Qaeda; he had been waiting long enough for this chance, and this mission made him energetic all day long. Finally he placed the target in the middle of his crosshair, while suddenly the target picked up a child and hold in his arms. Baron had a little moment of hesitate. The reality always throws to us single-choice questions, and we only have one chance, but making this choice would sometimes make us lost our mind. Being a devil, you can destroy everything before your eyes; but if you are a saint, you have to live with your choice.

After retirement from the army, Baron could not find a proper job, not even a place to stay. He tried to keep himself drunk every day, so that he could stop from thinking of that picture, the child’s face. Referred by a comrade back in the army, Baron picked up a job to carry out those dirty works for the mob, utilizing his sniping skills. At first he did not want to do this any more, but life did not leave him much choice, especially when poverty was challenged by lucrative payments. Soon as he pulled the trigger again, more jobs kept coming in. He soon got the trust from the Spades family via his precision and cleanness, and eventually he began to work solely for the Spade family. Finally, he earned himself a card in the family, as well as the love of the 6 of Spades, little sister of J.

Check out this upcoming Soldier Story release of a 1/6 scale French Special Forces 12-inch figure

Forces spéciales (English: Special Forces) is a 2011 French war adventure film directed by Stéphane Rybojad and starring Diane Kruger, Djimon Hounsou, Benoît Magimel, Mehdi Nebbou, and Tchéky Karyo. Filmed on location in France, Djibouti, and Tajikistan, the film shows a group of elite French soldiers on a desperate hostage rescue mission in the Afghanistan / Pakistan area. Forces spéciales is mainly in French, with brief scenes in English and Persian.

Djimon Hounsou stars as Kovax, leader of the team of French Naval Commandos entrusted with the rescue of a Kabul-based French journalist Elsa Casanova (Diane Kruger). The whole theme of the movie does remind me of "Tears of the Sun". While filming the action scenes, the actors were overseen and advised by French naval special forces according to the press folder available on the official site. Moreover one of their former chief instructors (Alain Alivon) played his own role.

This will be the Soldier Story upcoming release of their 1/6 scale French Special Forces 12-inch figure. The head sculpt seems to have a resemblance to Djimon Hounsou but the shirt, necklace, MP7 and Glock configurations, FAST helmet, shoes, radio set, along with breaching tools... all look to be referenced from the widely distributed pictures of the dead French commando from the failed Bulo Marer rescue attempt in Somalia about a year ago. On 11 January 2013, the French military attempted a rescue operation in Bulo Marer, Somalia to free a hostage known under the code-name "Denis Allex" from Al-Shabaab. The operation failed and Allex was executed in response.

Important Note: This product is for military collectors and historic education purposes only, and it is not intended to glorify nor exploit the horrors and atrocities of war.

Review 1: Sideshow Collectibles COBRA Ninja Assassin 1/6 scale Storm Shadow 12-inch figure

You can order this from Sideshow Collectibles

This was part of my last haul for June 2014 (posted HERE) and it's time to do a review with lots of pictures. This Storm Shadow sixth scale figure is only my second Sideshow G.I. Joe related figure. The other figure I got was also an enemy of G.I. Joe, a Cobra Saboteur who goes by the code name: Firefly (You can check out my review and pictures posted HERE, HERE and HERE).

Storm Shadow is a fictional character from the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toyline, comic books and cartoon series. He is best known as the Cobra Commander's ninja bodyguard, and for his history with fellow ninja Snake Eyes. Throughout their history, he has changed sides several times; conflicted in loyalties between Cobra, G.I. Joe, and his blood brother, Snake Eyes. Storm Shadow is one of the most prominent characters in the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero franchise, and has appeared in every series since its inception.

In his original A Real American Hero incarnation, Storm Shadow's real name is Thomas S. Arashikage (トーマス・嵐影) (Arashi meaning "Storm" and kage meaning "shadow" in Japanese), a Japanese American. Storm Shadow served in the U.S. Army special operations group along with Snake Eyes, and later invited him to train as a ninja with his family in Japan. The duo have been everything to one another from the bitterest of enemies, to the most loyal of friends, who would fight and die for one another.

This is the Storm Shadow Sideshow Collectibles COBRA Ninja Assassin is based upon, not the live-action film version portrayed by Lee Byung-hun in the 2009 live-action film G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, and the 2013 sequel G.I. Joe: Retaliation. That one was released by Hot Toys.

Check out Kotobukiya previews of DC Comics Batwoman Bishoujo Statue - She's a stunner!

"New age of crime... meet new age of crime-fighter".

Batwoman is a fictional character, a superheroine who appears in comic books published by DC Comics. In all incarnations, Batwoman is a wealthy heiress who—inspired by the notorious superhero Batman—chooses, like him, to put her wealth and resources towards funding a war on crime in her home of Gotham City. The identity of Batwoman is shared by two heroines in mainstream DC publications; both women are named Katherine Kane, with the original Batwoman commonly referred to by her nickname Kathy and the modern incarnation going by the name Kate.

Batwoman was created by Bob Kane and Sheldon Moldoff with writer Edmond Hamilton under the direction of editor Jack Schiff, as part of an ongoing effort to expand Batman's cast of supporting characters. Batwoman began appearing in DC Comics stories beginning with Detective Comics #233 (1956), in which she was introduced as a love interest for Batman in order to combat the allegations of Batman's homosexuality arising from the controversial book Seduction of the Innocent (1954).

After a long hiatus, Batwoman was reintroduced to DC continuity in 2006 in the seventh week of the publisher's year-long 52 weekly comic book. Reintroduced as Kate Kane, the modern Batwoman began operating in Gotham City in Batman's absence following the events of the company-wide crossover Infinite Crisis (2005).

Kotobukiya previews their Marvel Now Deadpool "Merc with a Mouth" ARTFX+ Statue

"I might be crazy, but I'm not KARAAAZY."

Deadpool (Wade Winston Wilson) is a fictional character, a mercenary and anti-hero appearing in comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by artist Rob Liefeld and writer Fabian Nicieza, Deadpool first appeared in New Mutants #98 (Feb. 1991).

A disfigured and mentally unstable mercenary, Deadpool originally appeared as a villain in an issue of New Mutants, and later in issues of X-Force. The character has since starred in several ongoing series, and shares titles with other characters such as Cable. Also known as the "Merc with a Mouth", Deadpool is famous for his talkative nature and his tendency to break the fourth wall, which is used by writers to humorous effect.

These are preview pictures of Kotobukiya's Marvel Now Deadpool ARTFX+ Statue. It does look pretty awesome and might prove to be a hot seller given the character's rise in popularity these days. Why that is I'm not too sure but he does get a lot of attention and is proving to be as hot as Wolverine.

MONDO Is Doing Toys: Iron Giant 16" Collectible Figure, TMNT and 1/6 scale Alfred Hitchcock

Exclusive Comic-Con Preview for Mondo's Very First Toys

Austin, TX - Monday, July 21, 2014 - Mondo is doing toys! The launch of figures for The Iron Giant, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Alfred Hitchcock are Mondo's first foray into toy collectibles, with the subjects and diversity of design reflecting Mondo's unique passions. The initial offerings include replicas as well as toys from artist-based designs, which can be previewed at San Diego Comic-Con in Mondo's booth (#835).

Toys join Mondo's growing list of pop culture passions in posters, vinyl, gallery events, VHS and apparel. "I am so pumped to announce toys! We've been working on this in secrecy for a year and now it's time to let you guys know about it. We'll be focusing on existing properties that we love as well as working with artists to bring their own creations to life. This is a new area for us, but I resist the term 'expansion' since the goal for Mondo has always been to be a place where artists and designers can work to have their visions realized, whether that's through posters, gallery shows, vinyl, apparel or now toys," said Mondo CEO Justin Ishmael.

THE IRON GIANT
Celebrating its 15th anniversary, The Iron Giant has reaped praise as being among the greatest animated films ever made (recently ranked #7 on Time Out's 100 Best Animated Movies list) and it was important for Mondo to honor the film with an appropriately stunning collectible.

The Iron Giant Collectible Figure
The 16" tall figure will have over 30 points of articulation, light features, and other fun surprises! Accompanying The Iron Giant will be a Hogarth figure, scraps of metal for him to munch on and a Seafood sign that has a removable "S" to put on his chest. He will also include an interchangeable head and gun attachment, giving a choice of displaying the figure as the regular version, or the "War" version! The figure was designed from the actual CG files used in the film, for ultimate accuracy.

Comparison pictures: Hot Toys Die-cast 1/6th scale Iron Patriot and War Machine Version 1.0

continued from previous post...

This toy blog post covers comparison pictures of Hot Toys MMS195-D01 Movie Masterpiece Series Die-cast 1/6th scale "Iron Man 3" Iron Patriot 12-inch Collectible Action Figure with the Hot Toys War Machine Mark 1 (version 1.0 - the original from "Iron Man 2") plus pictures taken with the other 1/6 scale James Rhodes (Terrence Howard as Lt. Colonel James "Rhodey" Rhodes as seen in the first Iron Man film).

I didn't get War Machine version 2.0 as it is basically a repaint of Iron Patriot in the dull gray colors of the first War Machine. War Machine version 2.0 looks sleeker than the first War Machine figure, the War Machine Mark 1, which was bulkier and built to look like a tank compared to Tony Stark's Iron Man armor suit which was more streamlined.

Having already covered Hot Toys 1/6 scale Iron Patriot die-cast collectible figure's packaging and contents HERE, plus light-up features HERE, 1/6 scale head sculpt with authentic likeness of Don Cheadle as James Rhodes / Iron Patriot HERE, doing the salute HERE (including comparison side-by-side pictures with The Avengers Captain America) and testing the pose-ability of the armor suit HERE, I guess this last post with comparison pictures would be most appropriate.

ACI Toys ACI-19 1/6 scale Warriors series: Thracian General 12-inch figure is coming soon

The first historical record about the Thracians is found in the Iliad, where they are described as allies of the Trojans in the Trojan War against the Greeks. Thracians were regarded by other people as warlike, ferocious, and bloodthirsty. They were seen as "barbarians" by ancient Greeks and Romans. Plato in his Republic considers them, along with the Scythians, extravagant and high spirited and his Laws considers them war-like nations grouping them with Celts, Persians, Scythians, Iberians and Carthaginians.

Spartacus was a Thracian enslaved by Rome, who led a large slave uprising in Southern Italy in 73–71 BC. Before being defeated, his army of escaped gladiators and slaves defeated several Roman legions in what is known as the Third Servile War.

This will be an upcoming release from ACI Toys: ACI-19 1/6 Warriors series: Thracian General 12-inch figure. ACI pretty much specialize in the warriors from the late BC / early AD period. They have released a 1/6 scale Roman Gladiator "Flamma" 12-inch Figure in the past (reviewed HERE and HERE) and followed that up with the disastrous "Total Rome!" 1/6 scale Roman Legionary Optio 12-inch action figure (reviewed HERE, HERE and HERE)

This looks pretty nice and brings to men the exceptional Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series MMS114 1/6 scale King Leonidas 12-inch collectible figure from the movie "300". Check out the reviews and pictures posted on my toy blog HERE, HERE and HERE.

Kotobukiya presents DC Comics Damian Wayne Robin ARTFX+ Statue - Son of Bruce Wayne

Damian Wayne is a fictional character in the DC Universe. Damian is the child of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul and thus the grandson of Batman's villain, Ra's al Ghul. The character was created by Mike W. Barr, and first appeared in Batman: Son of the Demon (1987).

Having spent his gestation in a laboratory, Damian was raised by his mother until ten years of age, at which point she left him in the care of his father, who had not been aware of his son's existence until that point in time. Damian is violent and self-important, and was trained by the League of Assassins, learning to kill at a young age. After the events of Batman R.I.P. and Batman: Battle for the Cowl, Damian has taken up the identity of Robin, becoming the fifth and current person to use the Boy Wonder's identity.

This is the latest DC Comics Damian Wayne Robin ARTFX+ Statue to be previewed by Kotobukiya, the Japanese company that has been hard at work bringing all the DC Comics characters to life in statue form. They have done tremendous work and the statues are nice but I'm very much an action figure kind of guy. If it's not articulated, then I don't want it. Having said that, I do have some statues in my rather large toy collection, and three of those statues are from Kotobukiya - the Kotobukiya Marvel Bishoujo collection 1/7th scale X-Force Psylocke ninja 8-inch Statue (Reviewed HERE and HERE), Kotobukiya DC Comics Bishoujo Wonder Woman (Reviewed HERE and HERE) and Kotobukiya Batman Arkham City Collectors Edition 14 cm (5.5") Statue (posted HERE). My favorite Batman statue is still the DC Direct "Batman: Black and White" Mike Mignola statue (posted in my toy blog HERE).

25 inches (635mm) tall Vampirella Premium Format™ Figure by Sideshow Collectibles

You can PreOrder this from Sideshow Collectibles

She will bewitch and bedevil you - Vampirella like you’ve never seen her before!

Vampirella is a fictional character, a comic book vampire superheroine created by Forrest J Ackerman and costume designer Trina Robbins in Warren Publishing's black-and-white horror comics magazine Vampirella #1 (Sept. 1969). Vampirella was originally presented as an inhabitant of the planet Drakulon, a world where a vampiric race lived on blood and where blood flowed in rivers. Vampirella has many of the typical vampiric powers, including superhuman physical abilities, shapeshifting into a bat, immortality, and a mesmeric stare. She is not prone to the race's traditional weaknesses, such as daylight, holy water, garlic, or crosses. She does not attack people to drink their blood, except occasionally when she herself is attacked or desires to kill. She is almost always scantily clad in her signature red sling suit with a white collar and wearing shiny black knee-high boots.

Sideshow Collectibles is proud to present the Vampirella Premium Format™ Figure. Designed by renowned pinup artist, Stanley ‘Artgerm’ Lau, the mesmerizing classic horror pulp icon rises up in an eerie graveyard themed composition. Hand outstretched to release a bat into the night, the bloodthirsty beauty dons her classic costume, an enchanting representation of the atoning vampire huntress.

New Teaser Images from The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly

Avengers: Age of Ultron is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is intended to be the sequel to 2012's Marvel's The Avengers and the eleventh installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Entertainment Weekly nabbed these marvelous shots from the upcoming Avengers sequel.

Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr (Tony Stark / Iron Man), Chris Evans (Steve Rogers / Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (Dr Bruce Banner / The Hulk), Cobie Smulders (Agent Maria Hill), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton / Hawkeye), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Pietro Maximoff / Quicksilver), Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch) with Paul Bettany (the Vision), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), and James Spader (Ultron) opens in theaters 05/01/15.

New movie means all new superhero costumes for our heroes which means all new figures for collectors. The collection and wait for new figures continues. Not too sure if that's the same for the Hulk as I don't really see the Hulk having / needing a new costume. After seeing Evan Peters as Peter Maximoff / Quicksilver in "X-Men: Days of Future Past" which was one of the best scenes in the movie IMHO, I wonder how Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Quicksilver will do in the Avengers sequel.

Kotobukiya Marvel Comics 1/7 scale Jubilee Bishoujo Statue - Jubilee never looked this good!

A Kotobukiya Japanese import! The Marvel Bishoujo collection, bringing you new interpretations of familiar superheroes and villains, continues with the perpetually youthful mutant and sidekick to Wolverine, Jubilee! First appearing in the pages of X-Men in 1989, Jubilation Lee was an orphan and runaway living in a mall when she ran into fellow mutant shoppers Dazzler, Psylocke, Rogue, and Storm. Following them to their base, the teen eventually signed on with the X-Men officially, becoming the youngest member and using her unique pyrotechnic powers to help save the day for decades until she became depowered (and subsequently a vampire). Jubilee’s most iconic look is now captured in a fantastic Bishoujo statue based on a new illustration by master artist Shunya Yamashita!

An awesome product of the late ‘80s, Jubilee was a spunky young girl with a loud sense of style, and all of that resonated with the fans and will again with this hot new statue. Jubilee stands a rocking pose, legs apart for balance and leaning slightly as she raises an arm into the air in preparation for unleashing a fiery display of plasmoids! The young mutant wears a hot update on her classic costume complete with blue high tops, jean short shorts with X logo belt, pink tube top, bright yellow jacket, and shredded black gloves. Jubilee accessorizes that ensemble with an X pin on her chest, choker, and pink sunglasses perched on her head. All of those details, as well as the heroine’s beautiful Bishoujo-styled face, are intricately sculpted and painted and look great on her!

Injustice: Gods Among Us is an action fighting video game based on the DC Comics universe. It is developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

After being betrayed by long time friend Superman, who was drugged by The Joker, Batman was forced to go underground and form the Insurgency. His only goal is to end the High Councilor’s tyrannical rule of Earth.

Bandai has officially released preview pictures of S.H. Figuarts Batman and the Joker action figures based on the video game "INJUSTICE: Gods Among Us". They look pretty good, and seem to be the best figures that have come out based on the game. It is quite obvious that both versions are from the "insurgency".

Can Hot Toys "Iron Man 3" 1/6th scale Die-cast Iron Patriot execute the famous landing pose?

continued from previous post...

We have all seen it. That famous and iconic Iron Man landing pose where our invincible iron-clad hero comes crashing down from above with left knee bent forward and right arm fist clenched to steady himself. Bam! What a sight. It has been repeated so many times and in so many medium everyone who's a fan would know what I'm talking about. If not, check out the pictures below to see what I mean.

Truth be told, these are all CGI i.e. computer generated images which make it look possible but in reality, this particular pose is almost impossible to execute properly at all. With an actual 1/6 scale fully articulated 12-inch figure, the limitations of the articulations of the body means that this landing pose is not possible to perform. Many have tried and failed. The poses I've seen are mostly awkward looking and the figure doesn't look as dynamic as in these drawn pictures. I tried using regular 12-inch figures (on which the 1/6 scale Iron Man figures are based on) to perform the same pose and was only satisfied with one particular brand which could do it - see my toy blog post HERE of the various 1/6th scale 12-inch Action Figure Bodies I used: Hot Toys, X-Series etc to determine which is best.

Hot Toys seemed to have achieved it in their preview pictures of the MMS123 Movie Masterpiece Series Iron Man 2 1/6th scale Mark IV Limited Edition Collectible Figurine (posted HERE) but since its release, I have been unable to get it into the desired position (see my attempt HERE). So many others have failed in this endeavor as well. So begs the question: Can Hot Toys "Iron Man 3" 1/6th scale Die-cast Iron Patriot execute the famous and iconic landing pose?

Kotobukiya 1/6 scale Wolverine Brown Costume Danger Room Sessions Fine Art (8-inch) Statue

Kotobukiya’s amazing X-Men Danger Room Sessions Fine Art Statue series can not be stopped! We’ve seen a variety of mutant heroes and even some reformed villains battling the holographic dangers in the X-Men training facility, and the latest fan-favorite character to return to the training facility with a new look is Wolverine Brown Costume! A nearly immortal mutant with a powerful healing factor and heightened senses, Wolverine was further enhanced by an adamantium-laced skeleton and ultra-sharp claws. Throughout his years with the X-Men he’s worn several different costumes, with the brown and yellow one of the most popular with his fans. In all of his incarnations he’s served as one of the team’s most powerful fighters, honing his skills in the Danger Room. Ever since the early days of Marvel Comics’ mutant adventures, “X” teams have trained together in the ultra high tech facility known as the Danger Room, equipped with state of the art adaptive combat and athletics routines that challenge each participant in unique ways. The training facility has been featured prominently in X-Men comics over the years, as well as in various cartoons and X-Men films.

Barely focusing his mindless berserker rage, Wolverine crouches in a combat pose with his claws popped and ready for action. Swapping out his usual blue and yellow, Logan wears his classic brown and yellow costume with flared boots, red X-Men logo belt, and of course the iconic pointed cowl. Balancing on the balls of his feet as he prepares to leap at the next simulated enemy in the Danger Room, Wolverine’s entire body is tensed with its rippling physique sculpted in high detail. Logan fans will really appreciate the display options with this version that include two portraits: the masked head is close-mouthed and focused while the bare head unleashes the ferocity with flowing hair and a wild scream!

Hot Toys RoboCop: 1/6th ED-209 Collectible is already starting to crack at the dome. Be warned!

Hot Toys MMS204 1/6th scale ED-209 Collectible has only been released recently and the dome has already started to crack! This is NO JOKING MATTER. Imagine paying good hard-earned money for something that disintegrates in front of your very eyes and there's nothing you can do about it.

Just sharing something I read and saw on One Shot's World.com message board posted by "T-800" which was shared by George Dixon on facebook:

"After seeing the pics of Aztecas Hot Toys ED209, I went to dust mine off to take some pictures and guess what......THE DOME IS STARTING TO FALL APART!!!! For those that don't know, Hot Toys released a ED209 back in the day. It looked good but the dome would to fall apart. It started by cracking and then it would rot and just fall apart. Now with this new release supposedly they had fix the problem. Well I've had this figure for about maybe 2 months and guess what they didn't fix shit. Sorry to burst anybody's bubble but they need to check their figure now. I put these pictures up on another forum and the people there are going nuts. The good thing is that everybody is contacting sideshow and they are at least trying to fix the problem. But everybody that I've talked to and and friends that I have on Facebook are pretty sure that Hot Toys will not do a damn thing about it. Now for the price of $400 and a little bit more we were expecting this problem to be fixed. Somebody contacted sideshow and it was their advice was to put some sort of plastic sealant on it. I think that's all bullshit. For the money that we put in this figure it should have been fixed and it was everybody's fear that this would happen. Since Hot Toys knew problem with the first release that should have been their number one priority. Now I can forgive the crappy ass voice they put on here since I rarely use it but this dome will make this figure worthless.I don't know if they care, I don't know if they will ever do anything about it which I doubt but like I've always said if you're going to spend the money and these things are not cheap at least give us a figure that won't fall apart in a couple months."

Rubber material has a tendency to crack over time and rubber used on bodies or costumes / outfits tend to cause problems to collectors because somehow the material is not designed to last the test of time but this collectible has only been released recently and already cracks appear.

Gotta check out Dam Toys 1/6 scale Spetsnaz FSB Vympel 12-inch Special Forces Figure

Spetsgruppa "B" (Cyrillic for V), often referred to as Vympel (pennant in Russian, originated from Dutch wimpel, and having the same meaning), but also known as KGB Directorate "B" , Vega Group is an elite Russian spetsnaz unit under the command of the FSB.

Vympel is the sister unit of Spetsgruppa "A"(Alpha Group), an KGB/FSB unit, specialised in counter-terrorism missions and covert operations. Vympel training is the same as Alpha Group. All Vympel operatives are trained in tactical operations, parachuting, driving various vehicles, trained in methods of intelligence gathering, and other specialized skills.

Vympel (i.e. the Directorate "V" of the TsSN FSB) is still a classified and secretive unit. It took part in Russia's Chechen campaigns and in storming of the Supreme Soviet building during the 1993 Russian constitutional crisis. Little is known about its current operations and activities, the exception being the capture of the Chechen militant leader Salman Raduyev in March 2000 and the assault on the school in Beslan in September 2004.

It's football season and ZCWO previews 1/6 Futbol Club Barcelona Lionel Messi 12-inch figure

Lionel Andrés Messi (born 24 June 1987) is an Argentine footballer who plays as a forward for Spanish club FC Barcelona and the Argentina national team. He serves as the captain of his country's national football team.

Since the 2014 World Cup is all the rage now with Argentina qualifying for the semi-finals against Netherlands, Lionel Messi cannot be ignored. Messi was elected man of the match in all three of Argentina's group games and once again in the round of 16 match against Switzerland. Messi has won a whole accolade of awards and is commonly ranked as the best player in the world and rated by some in the sport as the greatest of all time

So I guess it's only appropriate that some 1/6 scale toy company made a 12-inch figure of Lionel Messi. Futbol Club Barcelona Messi was the choice by ZCWO (ZC World) although Argentina threads would also be a good choice, especially since it's World Cup season. But then again, the World Cup only comes around every four years and Messi will continue to ply his trade at FC Barcelona year after year. The guy is only 27 and had many more years to contribute to his club and country.

"Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." 1/6 Forrest Gump figure

"Forrest Gump," which ran onto the big screen on July 6, 1994, celebrates its 20th Anniversary! Yup, "Forrest Gump" was released in theaters 20 years ago today. So I'm reposting an old toy blog post from April 24, 2010 where I did a review of a Tom Hanks Forrest Gump 12-inch figure.

"Stupid is as stupid does"

Forrest Gump is a 1994 American comedy-drama film based on the 1986 novel of the same name by Winston Groom. The film stars Tom Hanks as an adult Forrest Gump and the story depicts several decades in the life of Forrest Gump, a simple Alabama man who travels across the world, sometimes meeting historical figures, influencing popular culture, and experiencing firsthand historic events of the late 20th century.

This 1:6 scale Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump 12-inch figure was produced and released in April 2010. It is not clear which company made this "Toms Forrest" (obviously referring to Tom Hanks' Forrest Gump portrayal) figure but I must say this figure is quite well done. The packaging is pretty simple and straightforward. The amazing thing is, there's supposed to be the bench Forrest Gump sits on inside the package as well.

Batman Masterpiece Edition: Golden Age Caped Crusader "First Appearance" Batman 9" figure

I got this figure a long time ago. It seems appropriate to bring it up again since Kotobukiya's preview of their First Appearance Batman by Bob Kane Limited Edition ARTFX+ Statue (see previous post). Besides, it is also the 75th Anniversary of Batman.

This is the exclusive action figure of the early Batman that came with the "The Batman Masterpiece Edition: The Caped Crusader's Golden Age" classic boxed set from the year 200. I really like the 9-inch tall "First Appearance" Batman action figure with his cloth costume / outfit, wire-frame cape that's pose-able and batarang. This figure was based on the first appearance of Batman in 1939. Note the historically accurate purple gloves. Batman has come a long way since then.

"The Batman Masterpiece Edition: The Caped Crusader's Golden Age" classic boxed set from the year 2000 captured the golden age of the Caped Crusader with an exclusive action figure of the early Batman (complete with utility belt, wire-framed cape, and a Batarang); the first-ever facsimile reprint of the first Batman comic book (Not his first appearance, which was Detective Comics #27, which the figure is based upon); and a lavishly illustrated, full-color hardcover book by best-selling author Les Daniels detailing Batman's early years.

Kotobukiya presents First Appearance Batman by Bob Kane Limited Edition ARTFX+ Statue

Created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger Batman has been thrilling readers young and old alike for 75 years. To commemorate this milestone anniversary Kotobukiya has created an extremely limited edition ARTFX+ statue of the “Bat-Man” as he first appeared in Detective Comics issue #27.

Batman didn't always look or behave the way he does now. The first Batman story, "The Case of the Chemical Syndicate", published in Detective Comics #27 (May 1939) was originally written in the style of the pulps, and this influence was evident with Batman showing little remorse over killing or maiming criminals. The original drawing had Batman in reddish tights, with boots... no gloves, no gauntlets... with a small domino mask, swinging on a rope. He had two stiff wings that were sticking out, looking like bat wings. The bat wing like cape was suggested by Bob Kane; who was inspired by seeing Leonardo Da Vinci's sketch of an ornithopter flying device as a child.

Bob Kane detailed Finger's contributions to Batman's creation in his 1989 autobiography: At the time, I only had a small domino mask, like the one Robin later wore, on Batman's face. Bill said, 'Why not make him look more like a bat and put a hood on him, and take the eyeballs out and just put slits for eyes to make him look more mysterious?' At this point, the Bat-Man wore a red union suit; the wings, trunks, and mask were black. I thought that red and black would be a good combination. Bill said that the costume was too bright: 'Color it dark gray to make it look more ominous'. The cape looked like two stiff bat wings attached to his arms. As Bill and I talked, we realized that these wings would get cumbersome when Bat-Man was in action, and changed them into a cape, scalloped to look like bat wings when he was fighting or swinging down on a rope. Also, he didn't have any gloves on, and we added them so that he wouldn't leave fingerprints.

Happy Independence Day to my American friends from Hot Toys 1/6 die-cast Iron Patriot

Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain (now officially known as the United Kingdom). Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, and political speeches and ceremonies, in addition to various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Independence Day is the National Day of the United States.

I guess it's appropriate and timely that I post pictures of this recently released Hot Toys MMS195-D01 Movie Masterpiece Series Die-cast 1/6th scale Iron Patriot 12-inch Collectible Action Figure from "Iron Man 3" with the alternate saluting hand / palm which is included with this figure (see pictures of the box and contents HERE).
